Unmasking The Origins of Global Widespread Injustices: Why Wickedness Dominates the World

Explore the root spiritual cause of Widespread Injustices, corrupt legal systems, and human conflict. Discover the ultimate solution promised by the Bible.

The question remains deeply unsettling: Why is there such persistent global widespread injustices? We repeatedly observe dangerous criminals escaping due punishment. Furthermore, we hear disturbing accounts of innocent people being wrongfully imprisoned. A society must learn how to truly support and heal the victims of these profound failures.

This unfortunate pattern of global widespread injustices presents a terrifying reality across many countries. In places like the United States, it happens again and again. Known killers, muggers, rapists, and child predators frequently secure their release. Many of these individuals even confessed to their horrific crimes. They leave police custody or prisons and walk freely onto the streets.

🚨The Pervasive Crisis: Legal Loopholes and Widespread Injustices in Court

Their freedom is generally secured by exploiting a simple legal technicality. A flaw in the prosecution process provides the opening they need. The law contains frustrating loopholes that are consistently exploited. Procedures are often not perfectly followed by overburdened officials.

Tragically, many of these released criminals commit new, often severe, offenses quickly. This happens within weeks of their initial release. Conversely, we often receive shocking news of individuals mistakenly receiving lengthy prison sentences. These wrongful convictions often stem from an honest, yet flawed, witness identification.

The Widespread Injustices of Wrongful Conviction

They may result from deliberately false testimony offered for gain. Additionally, community bias or an elaborate frame-up can play a major role. Sometimes, police officers become overly zealous in their desire to quickly close a case. A judge or a sensational newspaper report might easily prejudice a jury’s verdict.

No one can accurately determine how often innocent individuals are convicted. Nevertheless, these devastating errors clearly happen in every system. The machinery of justice turns slowly and agonizingly to correct these profound wrongs.

Corrupting the Scales: The Failure of Human Justice Systems

The Western world often criticizes the judicial methods used elsewhere. For example, authorities in certain nations can detain citizens on the flimsiest of excuses. People may then be held indefinitely without a formal trial. Some regimes execute individuals without proper due process. They target those simply out of favor or deemed opponents.

Mock trials, often called “kangaroo courts,” deliver cruel judgments. These rulings are based purely on the sudden whims of the presiding official. Confessions, whether true or false, can be extracted through brutal force. Despite the obvious global widespread injustices, we must maintain a balanced view of the system. Some countries manage crime and justice with more success than others.

Lack Submission to Governing Authorities

Dedicated, ethical judges and competent lawyers absolutely still exist. Many court cases result in fair and just rulings. We can still find honest law enforcement officers and government officials. Much of the system’s effectiveness depends entirely on the character and professional training of the individuals within it. Scripture instructs people to respect officers of justice and government authorities at all times. This respect is commanded even when people disagree with their actions.

  • Romans 13:1 :  “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.”

Plea Bargaining Taken Advantage

This truth exists, however, alongside the reality that most societies encounter corrupt judges and unethical, greedy lawyers. Police officers and prosecutors are sometimes deeply dishonest. They may drop criminal charges in exchange for a large enough bribe.

In the United States, many citizens are deeply concerned about the widespread use of plea bargaining. This procedure frequently appears to undermine the very concept of justice. Under plea bargaining, thousands of criminals receive reduced sentences or probation. This occurs when they plead guilty to a lesser crime than the one for which they were initially charged.

An estimated 90% of all criminal convictions in the U.S. are secured through plea bargains. This practice is negotiated between judges, prosecutors, and defense lawyers. These negotiations often happen away from public scrutiny. It is frequently justified as a necessary means to clear court dockets clogged with cases. It also helps to avoid expensive, drawn-out jury trials.

Isaiah 10:1-2 (ESV):

“Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who keep writing oppression, to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!”

A dark brown book titled "THE LAW" resting on a surface with a visible scale of justice emblem carved on its cover. A dark leather briefcase is blurred in the background. The illegal use of the law is one of the causes of widespread injustices.
A representation of THE LAW and the scale of justice, often contrasted with the reality of widespread injustices when legal systems are abused by powerful figures to persecute the marginalized, Isaiah 10:1-2, Hab. 1:3-4, Prov.29:2.  Micah 3:9-11

The Widespread Wickedness of Plea Bargaining

Plea bargaining is also employed when securing evidence for a conviction proves difficult. The troubling result is that many criminals repeatedly receive minor sentences. Consequently, they often go unpunished for the severe crimes they genuinely committed. This procedure can lead to another major evil. Indicted citizens, especially those who are poor or unrepresented, may feel pressured into accepting a guilty plea for a crime they did not commit. A full jury trial might have easily proved their innocence on the original charge.

One trial judge criticized this assembly-line approach to justice openly. He said most judges are too focused on meeting a daily quota of case disposals. Consequently, they are too exhausted to truly examine the fairness or common sense of the sentences imposed. Furthermore, justice is often fundamentally denied because it is tragically delayed. Delay is almost guaranteed in many courts struggling with overwhelming case backlogs. Prolonged court procedures or intentional tactical delays by opposing parties also cause setbacks.

Micah 3:9-12Now hear this, You heads of the house of Jacob And rulers of the house of Israel,
Who abhor justice And pervert all equity, Who build up Zion with bloodshed, And Jerusalem with iniquity:
Her heads judge for a bribe, Her priests teach for pay, And her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean on the Lord, and say, “Is not the Lord among us? No harm can come upon us.” Therefore because of you
Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, And the mountain of the temple
Like the bare hills of the forest.”

Justice Delayed and the Price of Widespread Injustices

Skilled lawyers utilize every maneuver possible to postpone the prosecution of guilty clients. They understand completely that a longer delay increases the likelihood of acquittal. Some lawyers hope that witnesses will forget details or become unwilling to testify. Others hope they will move away or even pass away. In severe crime cases, lawyers use appeal after appeal simply to put off the start of a prison term.

In some jurisdictions, a dual system of justice exists: one for the wealthy, another for the poor. Affluent defendants, charged with white-collar crimes like corruption or theft of public funds, often receive lighter sentences. They can afford the most skilled defense attorneys. In sharp contrast, the poor are often poorly represented, or not represented at all. They pay disproportionately heavier penalties for similar crimes of theft or dishonesty.

Prov. 29: 2 “When the righteous [a]are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.”

Moral Relativism Fuels Widespread Wickedness

Today, justice may not even rely on a shared moral standard of right and wrong. We live in a time where a judge can acquit felons or issue light sentences for serious crimes. Their ruling is based purely on their own personal moral philosophy. Citizens often feel completely powerless to challenge these decisions.

Judges in the highest courts frequently hold deep philosophical differences in their values and decisions. This fundamental failure to agree on a common moral basis for determining right and wrong results in conflicting judgments about acceptable human behavior.

Taking Matters Into Own Hands For Widespread Injustices

Citizens are becoming frustrated and increasingly fearful. Therefore, many are tempted to take the law into their own hands. They acquire weapons or means to protect themselves. The widespread failure of the justice system to stop criminals and brazen thugs is the precise reason many fear-stricken U.S. citizens have taken violent action.

In highly publicized incidents, they have shot criminals or others who threatened them. As the perception of injustice intensifies, the foundations of an orderly, peaceful society weaken dramatically. Respect for law and order rapidly erodes, pushing society dangerously closer to the brink of anarchy.

Hab. 1:3-4 “Why do You show me iniquity, And cause me to see [a]trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; There is strife, and contention arises. Therefore the law is powerless, And justice never goes forth.
For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore perverse judgment proceeds.”

💰 The Surge of Conflict: Widespread Wickedness in Adversarial Relationships

Another significant social problem now overwhelms the U.S. judicial system. The American justice system has been hit by a staggering surge of civil lawsuits. Millions of citizens are now suing other citizens for perceived wrongs. Historically, many of these grievances would have been resolved quietly within the family, school, or religious community. Now, lawsuits are filed over any slight or complaint imaginable.

The Adversarial Nature of Widespread Wickedness

Children sue parents, patients sue doctors, and clients sue lawyers. Employees sue employers, and parishioners sue clergy. Businesses sue each other, and neighbors sue neighbors. This deluge of adversarial lawsuits means people feel vulnerable every day. They fear the caprices of an irritated passerby, customer, neighbor, or colleague. The sheer volume of these cases clogs the legal machinery. Therefore, the essential work of maintaining criminal justice suffers profoundly.

Why do so many hostile relationships exist among people? Why is there so much bitterness and a desire for vengeance in resolving disputes? Many argue this is simply “human nature,” but that explanation falls short. Any explanation that fails to address the ultimate cause and solution for this nature fails to truly explain human criminality and injustice.

😈 The Core Source: Identifying the Spiritual Root of Widespread Wickedness

The Bible uncovers the true origin of the human attitudes that drive this adversarial conflict. In fact, adversarial relationships began even before the creation of humankind. It started with a mighty spiritual being. This archangel’s name in Latin was Lucifer, meaning “Lightbringer” in its original Hebrew.

The Creator placed this being over the earth to manage God’s government. However, he grew deeply dissatisfied with his lofty position. He desperately craved the highest position of authority for himself. He began to reason in the “get” way: the pursuit and accumulation of power and wealth for personal gain. This was his objective, even if it meant taking from others or causing them pain.

The Lust of Power by Satan

God’s laws, in stark contrast, are founded on love for others. They command concern and respect for others, equal to the concern one holds for oneself. Lucifer began to reject God’s way of selfless love as the best path. His mind became corrupted by lust for power.

  • Ezekiel 28:15: “You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.”

Lucifer made the deliberate decision to compete directly with God. He publicly declared his ambition:

  • Isaiah 14:14: “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.”

In his ultimate rebellion, Lucifer was able to convince one-third of God’s angels to join him. This is clearly recorded in Revelation 12:4. He achieved this through subtly spreading lies, defaming God’s character, laws, and divine purposes. God often names things based on their true nature or character. Because of his hostile disposition, Lucifer’s name was changed to Satan, which means “Adversary.”

The First Adversary: Uncovering the Origin of Human Conflict

Satan, the adversary, became the universe’s first criminal and warmaker. He tried to conquer and violently depose God, his Creator, from the throne of the universe. Satan severely misjudged the immense power of God. He and his violence-driven army of angels, now known as demons, were thrown back down to Earth. Jesus personally witnessed this dramatic event:

  • Luke 10:18: “And He said to them, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.'”

Satan Broadcast His Attitude to Human Beings

Jesus stated that Satan was a murderer from the moment his rebellion began. He is also the ultimate father of lies, as recorded in John 8:44. Jesus also issued a warning. Human beings could allow Satan’s hostile attitudes—deceit, lying, false accusation, hatred, lust, and rebellion—to enter and dominate their minds if they failed to guard their thoughts. The Apostle Paul revealed a key truth to early Christians about their lives before conversion. They had been living in a way Paul described as:

  • Ephesians 2:2 : “…following the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.”

Pervasive Human Widespread Injustices

Understand this profound concept: humans not only learn harmful ways of living and flawed attitudes from other misguided people or damaging cultural practices. Satan also possesses the power to influence minds powerfully. He can broadcast his malevolent nature, corrupt attitudes, and distorted sense of justice directly through the atmosphere.

Unsuspecting human minds can absorb these negative moods and attitudes. They may then nurture and develop them until they become an integral part of their human nature.

Satan Has Caused Chaos to Whole World

Recall what happened to millions in Europe who were swept up by the evil ideologies of Hitler and Mussolini. How many people today are aware that an invisible spirit being is radiating these wrong attitudes into the minds of unsuspecting humanity? Yet, in many cases, this humanity does not even believe that a devil exists.

How many truly recognize that, in varying degrees, every human has absorbed Satan’s hostile attitudes into their thinking? Scripture reveals that Satan has deceived and influenced the entire world with his corrupt attitudes and perverted justice.

  • Revelation 12:9: “So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

📜 The Moral Collapse: How Rejection of Divine Law Fuels Widespread Wickedness

The decline into injustice began with the very first human couple, Adam and Eve. They were given the opportunity to live by and administer the government of God over the earth. God provided them with basic knowledge of right and wrong. He commanded them to multiply and to rule over the creation on Earth, governed by His law of love.

Because they were free moral agents, requiring the development of righteous character, God permitted Satan to approach them with his own ways. Satan quickly planted the insidious suggestion in Adam and Eve’s minds that God had lied and was untrustworthy. Eve succumbed to false reasoning and took what God had forbidden. Adam weakly failed in his leadership and followed her.

The Original Choice for Widespread Wickedness

They both chose to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In this pivotal act, they were asserting their right to decide for themselves what constituted good and evil. They decided to rely exclusively on their own reasoning instead of God’s.

An attitude of deep hostility toward God and His ways was immediately implanted in their minds. God then declared that, because of their disobedience, they and their descendants would be allowed to develop their own cultures.

They would create their own ideas of right and wrong, their own systems of living, all under the influence of Satan. They would then experience the consequences of these choices directly.

The Foundation of Law: Why Societies Lost Their Moral Compass

The scriptural record details the very first act of human injustice: Cain murdered his brother Abel. He was driven by jealousy and hatred, as told in Genesis 4. Soon after, the Earth became overrun with crime, violence, and all forms of human injustice. This degradation became so complete that God was forced to destroy mankind with a flood, saving only Noah, his sons, and their wives, as described in Genesis 6-8.

Both Scripture and human history chronicle a relentless succession of competing human cultures and systems of government. Without exception, every single system eventually became corrupt, violent, and riddled with injustice.

The Human Nature at Play

Mankind has failed to create systems that can properly control human nature. This includes the inherent selfishness, lying, lust, and greed. Humanity has failed because it has rejected the revealed knowledge of the Creator.

It has turned away from the ways they were designed to live. Injustice is fundamentally caused by the breaking of spiritual law. It results from violating the immutable spiritual laws that God established to ensure peace, happiness, and security for both individuals and nations. These spiritual and moral laws are clearly defined and revealed in Scripture.

The Consequences of Sin On Widespread Injustices

Crime and injustice begin when humans violate the great spiritual laws revealed in the Ten Commandments! Many nations have either ignored, twisted, or discarded these foundational laws in the development of their own laws and societies. The most vital law for proper living is maintaining a right relationship with the Creator. The breaking of God’s law—and often human law—starts when individuals fail to prioritize respect for the Creator and His laws in their thoughts and actions.

  • Proverbs 16:6: “In mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.”

Absent of Wisdom From God

The fear of the Lord causes people to seriously consider all their actions. It compels them to strive to live and think rightly. They understand they will ultimately be accountable to their Maker for their lives. Next, true justice in human relations is built upon the laws within the Ten Commandments that govern our interactions with others.

These laws command every individual to honor parents, not to murder (or harbor hatred), not to commit adultery, not to steal from others, not to bear false witness (tell lies) about any issue, and not to covet the property or possessions of others.

God’s Perfect Law as Solution to Widespread Injustices

God’s instructions throughout Scripture elaborate on these laws. They teach us the spirit and true intent of His laws. They show us how to truly love our neighbor and define right and wrong attitudes and relationships. The core attitude supporting all proper human relations is summarized in Scripture:

  • Leviticus 19:18: “…You shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.”
  • Mark 12:31: “And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
  • Romans 13:10: “Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”

⚖️ The Final Solution: Ending Widespread Wickedness with True Justice

A truly effective system of justice does not start merely with a large presence of police on the streets. Genuine justice can only emerge when all parts of society—both young and old—are taught and fully accept a correct, shared standard of right and wrong behavior. An effective system begins within the family unit. Here, children must be taught, from their earliest comprehension, their fundamental responsibility to do what is right.

Implement Swift and Fair Justice

Justice is fostered by the example set by adults. This includes adults who demonstrate self-discipline. It means adults who obey the law. It demands adults who deal with absolute honesty and fairness with everyone in their business and social lives. Justice is secured when all societal institutions clearly impress upon people of all ages that there will be a swift and inevitable penalty for wrongdoers.

A proper system of justice deters those who are tempted to commit crime or wrongdoing. It maintains a consistent track record of discovery of the crime. This is followed by prosecution of the guilty party. The process concludes with retribution that is both swift and certain.

Defining True Justice: The Essential Elements of Righteous Governance

True justice is constructed on a clearly defined legal procedure. It requires careful, accurate fact-finding. This is administered by qualified and mature judges. They must quickly yet fairly get to the root cause of the crime or civil dispute. Genuine justice goes beyond the mere physical facts of a case. It must also discern the intentions and attitudes of the mind.

True justice is not a bifurcated system. It cannot have one type of justice for the powerful and wealthy, and another for the poor and vulnerable. In genuine justice, a single system of judgment exists for all wrongdoing. This system applies regardless of a person’s race, sex, economic status, or political affiliation.

 The Antidote to Widespread Injustices

Proper justice quickly yet accurately assesses all relevant facts about a crime or conflict. It punishes wrongdoers in proportion to the severity of their actions. Crucially, this system must also include mercy when there is genuine repentance for the wrongdoing. Finally, and this is often neglected today, true justice demands that the criminal or wrongdoer appropriately compensate his or her victim. This compensation must cover the harm, the financial loss, and the emotional pain caused by their criminal act.

Fair Justice System Removes Widespread Injustices

In summary, a proper, righteous system of justice benefits an entire community and nation dramatically. It elevates respect for the law, for law enforcement, and for government itself. Fair justice encourages the maintenance of appropriate human relationships at all times, throughout all levels of society. Fair judgment  motivates people to change flaws in their character. It fairly and comprehensively remunerates the victims of wrongdoing.

Frequently Asked Questions on Widespread Injustices

1. What is the main cause of Widespread Injustices according to the article?

The main cause of global widespread wickedness is the spiritual rebellion against God’s law of love. This began with the spirit being Lucifer (Satan). This rebellion introduced an adversarial, “get” attitude that humans absorbed into their nature when Adam and Eve chose self-rule over divine guidance.

2. How does the current justice system fail the innocent?

The system fails the innocent primarily through human error and bias. Failures include flawed witness identification, deliberate false testimony, community prejudice, overzealous police investigation, and biased judicial rulings based on a judge’s personal philosophy rather than a shared moral standard.

3. What is plea bargaining, and how does it contribute to widespread injustices?

Plea bargaining is a procedure where a criminal pleads guilty to a lesser crime in exchange for a reduced sentence, avoiding a costly trial. It contributes to injustice because it allows thousands of genuinely guilty criminals to receive lighter penalties, effectively escaping punishment for their severe original crimes.

4. Why does the article say justice is denied for the poor?

Justice is often denied for the poor because of a dual system based on wealth. Affluent defendants can afford the best lawyers to exploit legal delays and technicalities. In contrast, the poor are often poorly represented, leading them to receive disproportionately heavier penalties for similar offenses.

5. What is the “broadcast” of Widespread Injustices?

The “broadcast” is a metaphor used to describe how the spiritual being Satan influences humanity. The article states that Satan can project his corrupt, hostile attitudes directly through the atmosphere, which unsuspecting human minds can absorb and develop, contributing to conflict and social breakdown.

6. What did Adam and Eve choose that led to human Widespread Injustices?

Adam and Eve chose to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This act was an assertion of their right to determine for themselves what was right and wrong, rejecting the moral authority of the Creator. This pivotal decision allowed human societies to develop corrupt systems under Satan’s influence.

7. What are the key elements of the “True Justice”?

True Justice involves three key elements: 1) Proportionality and Certainty: Punishing wrongdoers according to the severity of their actions with swift retribution; 2) Mercy and Change: Including mercy for genuine repentance and motivating character change; and 3) Victim Compensation: Ensuring the criminal appropriately compensates the victim for all harm, financial loss, and emotional pain.

A Strong Call to Action: Why We Must Anticipate the End of Widespread Injustices

What a magnificent system of justice this would be! Who would not desire to live in a nation—even an entire world—with justice of this kind? The wonderful, inspiring news is that this future is actually going to happen! The Bible explicitly announces this coming reality.

This announcement is, in fact, the gospel message—the good news—that Jesus Christ delivered more than nineteen centuries ago. It is the very same good news that we proclaim today. The ultimate solution for widespread wickedness will come when God’s perfect government and righteous laws are finally established over the whole Earth. This promises a final end to all injustice and pain.
