Understanding Biblical Timing

In the biblical system, a day commences in the evening (Genesis 1:5), specifically when the sun sets (Leviticus 23:32). Therefore, all of God’s observed festivals begin at sunset on the day immediately preceding the listed date.

For example, in 2026, Passover is observed on the evening of March 31*, immediately after sundown, and the Feast of Unleavened Bread begins the subsequent evening, April 1. Conversely, the festivals conclude at sunset on the final date provided in the table.
