A woman covering her eyes and holding out a hand in a stop gesture, illustrating the concept that People Will Not Accept the Truths of the Gospel.
When People Will Not Accept the Truths of Scripture, they often turn toward fables and self-seeking paths, as warned in 2 Timothy 4:4 and Romans 2:8.

Why Is It Hard To Accept The Truths?

It is a fascinating—and often frustrating—human paradox that even when presented with clear evidence, many people instinctively push back. As a fellow Christian, you might see this through the lens of spiritual blindness or the “hardening of the heart,” but psychology and biology offer some very grounded explanations for why it is to Hard To Accept The Truths.

Resistance to reality creates a barrier that prevents individuals from achieving their full potential and spiritual clarity. When we examine the mechanisms of the mind and the spirit, we begin to understand the complex reasons why for the masses it is Hard To Accept The Truths that are laid out before them.

By uncovering these truths, you gain the authority and credibility needed to navigate a world filled with deception. You can find peace in knowing that your adherence to the Word sets you apart from those who will Not Accept The Truths because they prefer the comfort of the darkness.

We must confront these Ultimate Truths from the Father to understand the penalty for those who refuse to see. Read through the following breakdown to see how the world and the Word explain why to many it is Hard To Accept The Truths.

A defiant bald man in a pinstriped blazer plugging his ears, illustrating how many refuse to Accept The Truths of the Gospel as warned in John 12:48.
A willful choice: When individuals refuse to Accept The Truths of God’s Word, they distance themselves from the very message designed to save them (2 Thessalonians 2:10).

1. Worldly Perspective: Accept The Truths

A. Cognitive Dissonance

When a new truth contradicts a deeply held belief, it creates a physical state of discomfort called cognitive dissonance. This is a primary reason why to many Christians it is Hard To Accept The Truths  that challenge their current state of being.

  • The Conflict: To accept the new truth, the person must admit they were wrong and this is difficult for human pride to admit.
  • The Defense: The brain often chooses to reject the new information rather than do the painful work of reorganizing its entire worldview. It is easy to learn than to unlearn. Therefore, just LEARN new truths.

 B. Identity and Social Belonging

For many, “truth” isn’t about facts; it’s about loyalty. People will find it Hard To Accept The Truths because the social cost of doing so is simply too high for them to bear.

  • If a person’s social circle, family, or career is built on a specific narrative, accepting a contradicting truth could lead to social exile.
  • In these cases, people value belonging over accuracy. They would rather be wrong with their peers than right and alone.
  • When you are loyal, it does not mean you are correct with facts. It can even mean the opposite. That is, plainly, even when you are wrong, your loyalty remains, and you will find it is Hard To Accept The Truths that threaten that bond.

C. The “Backfire Effect”

Interestingly, when you challenge someone’s core beliefs with facts, it often makes them dig in their heels further. This psychological phenomenon explains why the more evidence you provide, the more Christians will struggle and find it Hard To Accept The Truths

  • The brain processes a challenge to its beliefs the same way it processes a physical attack.
  • The “fight or flight” response kicks in, and the person becomes more entrenched in their original error to protect their ego. A person convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.

D. The High Cost of Change

Truth is rarely “free.” Accepting a new truth often demands action. This requirement for labor and sacrifice is difficult and it is Hard To Accept The Truths of the Gospel or even the basic spiritual truths on health.

  • If someone accepts the truth about a toxic habit, they have to change their lifestyle.
  • If someone accepts a spiritual truth, they may have to change their entire moral framework.
  • Most people prefer the “comfortable lie” because the “uncomfortable truth” requires work they aren’t ready to do.
  • Most people, if they accept the truth, are afraid to leave their parents, their friends, their social circles, their jobs, their habits, and their complete way of life.

God has answered this dilemma in Mark 10:29-30, and in the parable of the hidden treasure and the pearl of great price in Matt. 13:44-46, and the unfathomable reward in 1 Cor. 2:9 and eternal co-rulership with Christ in Rev. 5:10 and 11:15. Please get your Bible and read the verses.

2. Godly Perspective: Accept The Truths

A. The Carnal Pleasure

2 Thess. 2:12; Heb. 3:12-13 Truth is rejected because the heart finds more enjoyment in the lie. Hebrews 3:13 warns that a heart becomes “hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.” When Christians are “deceived” by the sins they enjoy, it is Hard To Accept The Truths because the truth feels like a threat to their current happiness and lifestyle.

B. The Power of Ego

John 12:43; John 5:44 Many people calculate the “social cost” of truth. As John 12:43 says, they “loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” If the truth makes them unpopular or costs them their status, or lose their wealth, it is Hard To Accept The Truths, and they will stay in the good graces of others. An example of this is the rich young man in Matthew 19:16–22.

C. Truth Blinds

John 9:39-41; 1 Peter 2:8 There is a point where the rejection of Christ leads to a spiritual blindness. As noted in 1 Peter 2:8, He becomes “a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense” to those who are disobedient. Those who claim they “see” while rejecting the Light are left in their sins because it is Hard To Accept The Truths of their own, wrong condition.

D. Hate The Truths

John 7:7; John 15:22-25 The truth isn’t just ignored; it is often hated. In John 7:7, Jesus explains that the world hates Him “because I testify of it that its works are evil.” For those called by God, this is Hard To Accept The Truths and they even hate it.  For them the truth acts as a mirror that exposes what they want to keep hidden.

E. Wicked Father of Lies

John 8:44-45; Rom. 2:8 Truth is a matter of whose “voice” you follow. John 8:44 explicitly states that those who reject truth are “of your father the devil.” Because the devil “does not stand in the truth,” his followers are fundamentally conditioned to believe the lie and it is very Hard To Accept The Truths of God.

F. Not His Sheep

John 10:26-27 “But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep.” This point highlights that truth requires a specific nature to be received. If a person is not “of the sheep,” the Shepherd’s voice sounds like noise, and they will not just find it Hard To Accept The Truths of the Kingdom but ignore it.

G. Approval of Evil

Rom. 1:32 The final stage of rejecting truth is not just doing what is wrong, but “approving of those who practice them.” This is a group rejection where people create a culture that validates their “untruth,” making it even harder for the light to break through them.  For this reason it is Hard To Accept The Truths.

A Godly Perspective for the “Christian”

From a biblical perspective, there is an understanding that “the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light” (John 3:19). It suggests that the rejection of truth isn’t just a lack of intelligence, but often a matter of the will.

Focus on why people will Not Accept The Truths from a biblical perspective. Understand the clear profile of the spiritual “friction” that prevents people from accepting what is real.

3. The Spiritual Truths: Don’t Accept The Truths?

Here are several examples of the TRUTHS Christ, Paul and John established, and many know these truths, but they cannot accept them and don’t want to apply them.

A. Christ is The Truth

We can state the Words of Christ in John 14:6: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” It means Christ’s words were the TRUTHS. The Father is the ultimate source of ALL TRUTHS. Christ only preached what the Father has instructed him to do.

B. The Father: The Ultimate Source of Truth

Key scriptural passages supporting this include:

  • John 12:49-50: Jesus explicitly states, “For I did not speak on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak… What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me”.
  • John 8:28: “I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me”.
  • John 14:10: “The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works”.
  • John 6:38: “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me”.

C. Christ’s Expectation of Us

These verses demonstrate that Jesus’s ministry was characterized by total obedience and that his teachings carried the direct authority of God.

  • Christ expected us to follow Him as He followed the Father.
  • Paul imitated Christ, and therefore Paul followed the Father.
  • King David was like Christ, who followed all His will (Acts 13:22).

Because King David did all the will of Christ, he was rewarded eternal rulership in the world to come (Ezekiel 37:24-25).  To become like King David, we shall follow Christ, so we will rule with Him in the Millennium (Rev. 5:10, 11:15). We will be kings and lords, with Christ as our King and Lord.

D. Christ was the God of the Old Testament

  • John 18:5-6: When Jesus says “I am He” (I AM) in the Garden of Gethsemane, the soldiers draw back and fall to the ground, reflecting the power of the divine name.
  • Revelation 1:17-18 & 22:13: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last…” Jesus claims the same title used by Jehovah in Isaiah 44:6 and 48:12.
  • 1 Cor. 10:1-5, 9-11: “Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud… and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

E. Millions Followers of Christ Would Not Obey Him

John 1:18, Exodus 24:9-11 Christ said we must observe all the things He had commanded (Matt. 28:20), and he came not to abolish the law but to fulfill (Matt. 5:17-19).

How many millions or billions of Christians today will Not Accept The Truths of this? These people who are calling themselves Christians, the followers of Christ, but would not follow His words? This is an enigma of the utter deceitfulness of our human hearts.

Bridging the gap between biblical commands and confirmed, modern medical truths shows that these ancient truths have tangible, practical benefits for mankind.

4. The Physical Truths The World Would Not Accept

A. The Eternal Sabbath: Biological Rhythms and Rest

Biblical Source:

  • Isaiah 58:13-14: Describes the Sabbath as a “delight.”
  • Isa. 66:22-23: The Sabbath command extending beyond the Millennium.
  • Luke 4:16: Shows Christ’s custom was to go to the synagogue on the Sabbath.
  • Acts 17:2: Shows Paul’s custom was to reason from the Scriptures on the Sabbath.

B. Medical & Scientific Findings:

Modern medicine recognizes the Circaseptan (7-day) cycle. Studies in chronobiology show that human blood pressure, heartbeat, and even the immune system fluctuate on a seven-day rhythm.

  • Stress Reduction: Regular “Sabbath-style” rest lowers cortisol levels, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Those who will Not Accept The Truths of rest suffer the physical consequences.
  • Mental Health: A 24-hour break from digital stimuli and labor prevents “burnout,” a condition now recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).

C. Holy Days: Agriculture and Social Warning

Biblical Source:

  • Zechariah 14:16-19: Specifically warns that nations refusing to keep the Feast of Tabernacles will receive “no rain.” This is means hunger.  Starvation. No more guns in the World Tomorrow but the weapon God uses is climate.
  • John 7:2, 10, 16, 37: Records Jesus attending the Feast of Tabernacles and the Last Great Day but His followers would not keep His feasts in Lev. 23. Verse 16 even indirectly states the Feasts of God are not the commandments of Christ but of God The Father.

D. The “Nova” Festival Massacre

The contrast between the biblical “God’s Holy Days” (which focus on harvest, gratitude, and God’s protection) and worldly festivals is stark, resulting in the massacre of the Jews in the holy days of God during the Last Great Day (John 7:37) last October 7, 2023.  Notice the date.  7 means complete. Their violation of the sacred Feast of God,  Shemini Atzeret, was complete, and like fish taken in a cruel net, or like birds caught in a snare, Ecc. 9:12, 1,040 Jews fell. Oh, if they had listened and accepted the TRUTHS.

  • Environmental/Agricultural Logic: Biblical feasts are timed with harvest cycles. Disregarding these cycles historically led to poor land management.
  • The Warning: From a Christian’s perspective, the tragedy at the Nova Music Festival serves as a modern reminder of the vulnerability felt when the “hedge of protection” associated with God’s appointed times is ignored by those who will Not Accept The Truths. When you violate God’s commandments, you have no protection and blessings, Job 5:19-27.

D. Laws of Clean and Unclean Animals: Preventive Medicine

Biblical Source:

  • Isaiah 66:17: Warns against those “eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and the mouse.”
  • Leviticus 11 / Deuteronomy 14: Lists bats and other scavengers as “unclean.”

Scientific Findings:

The biblical dietary laws function as an early form of Preventive Medicine and “Biosafety Protocols.”

  • Zoonotic Diseases: Bats are known “reservoirs” for viruses like Ebola, SARS, and MERS. Their unique immune systems allow them to carry high viral loads without getting sick, making them the perfect “source of viruses” for human spillover.
  • Toxicity: Swine (pigs) have a rapid digestive system (4 hours), meaning toxins are often stored in their fat rather than being eliminated. They also carry parasites like Trichinella spiralis.
  • Shellfish: Modern marine biology confirms that “unclean” water creatures are bottom-feeders that act as the “filters” of the ocean, concentrating heavy metals and pathogens.
  • Doctor’s Advice: Most doctors today will not advice their patients to eat these unclean foods but pastors will. People believe the doctors rather than God. What an enigma.

E. Accept The Truths On Unclean Diets

Isaiah 66:15–17 This prophecy refers to the Second Coming of Christ. If the dietary laws were abolished at the Cross, this judgment would make no sense. For the Lord will judge those eating swine’s flesh and the abomination. Those who will Not Accept The Truths of these dietary laws face a consumed end.

I. The Distinction Remains in the End Times

Revelation 18:2 If all animals were “cleansed,” the Holy Spirit would not use “unclean birds” as a symbol of demonic presence.

II. Peter’s Vision Was About Humans, Not Food

Acts 10:28 Peter himself explains the meaning: “God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.” The scenario was about Gentiles; it was not about eating unclean animals as many falsely believed, yet people will Not Accept The Truths of the context.

III. Accept The Truths On Definition of Sin

1 John 3:4 Since “sin is lawlessness,” and the laws of Leviticus 11 define what is “unclean,” to eat them is to willfully practice lawlessness.

IV. Accept The Truths of Medical and Scientific Reality

As we discussed, the “Truth” is not just spiritual; it is biological. Those who claim these animals are cleansed are ignoring the physical design of the creatures:

  • Pigs: Still lack a sophisticated sweat system.
  • Bats: Still serve as “viral reservoirs.”
  • Shellfish: Still function as the “filters” of the ocean.

Christ’s sacrifice was to cleanse the human soul from sin, not to change the biological toxicity of a scavenger. To claim otherwise is to ignore both the Scriptures and the biological evidence provided by the Creator.

V. Accept The Truths of God’s Authority

As a Christian, this shows that God’s “Truth” isn’t just a set of arbitrary rules—it is a User Manual for the human body and society.

  • Authority: This is not giving an opinion; but citing the Creator’s design.
  • Specific Benefit: Keeping these laws leads to health, mental clarity, and environmental stability for those who will Not Accept The Truths of the world’s ways.

5. Accept The Truths or Face Judgment

A. Penalty For Rejecting The Truths

The following verses reflect that sobering reality of how people respond to the truth:

  • Matthew 15:14: “Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
  • Daniel 12:10: “Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.”
  • Revelation 22:11: “He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”
  • John 12:48: “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.”

B. The Hard Reality-Leave Them Alone

There is a striking theme across these passages: the idea of finality in choice.

  • Matthew suggests there comes a point where you must “let them alone” because the refusal to see is willful.
  • Daniel and Revelation both point to a separation where the “wicked” or “unjust” become fixed in their path because they will Not Accept The Truths.
  • John highlights that the truth (the Word) is objective; it doesn’t change just because someone refuses to receive it—it simply remains there as the standard for judgment.

As a Christian, do you find that the “blind leading the blind” is the biggest hurdle when you try to establish the long, narrow, and difficult path that leads to eternal life, which only a few shall find?

7.  FAQ: Why People Will Not Accept The Truths

A. Why is cognitive dissonance so powerful? It protects the ego from the pain of being wrong, causing many to Not Accept The Truths.

B. Can social circles prevent someone from seeing the truth? Yes, the fear of social exile is a primary reason people will Not Accept The Truths.

C. Is the Sabbath still relevant medically? Yes, the Circaseptan rhythm shows we are biologically hardwired for a 7-day rest cycle.

D. Why do people believe all animals are clean? Usually due to misinterpreting Peter’s vision in Acts 10 and Mark 7, refusing to Not Accept The Truths it was about unclean hands and people.

E. What is the ‘Backfire Effect’?  It is a brain response where facts actually strengthen a person’s resolve to Not Accept The Truths.

F. Will the Sabbath be kept in the New Earth? According to Isaiah 66:23, all flesh will worship from one Sabbath to another.

G. Is there a point where God stops trying to convince someone? Matthew 15:14 tells us to “let them alone” once they have willfully chosen blindness.

7. Call To Action: Accept The Truths

There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matt. 13:42). Hebrews 10:26-27 describes a “fearful expectation of judgment” and “fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries” for those who deliberately continue to sin after knowing the truth. It refers to the conscious, agonizing realization of impending, eternal separation from God.

This serves as a serious warning to repent and accept God’s truths and grace rather than face the consequence of ultimate separation and burn in the Lake of Fire.

Will you continue to find it Hard To Accept The Truths? Will you not turn away from SIN?

As you read this biblical warning, the US and Israel are busy overthrowing the evil regime of Iran. The government which aim to serve its own people has killed thousands of its people. And yet they are blind of this truth. It is Hard To Accept The Truths.

And for you who read the truths now, will you even repent? Will you even accept the truths of Christ. Experience has shown many will  not heed Christ. Ans so perhaps you are one of them who will weeping,   and gnashing their teeth, Matt. 13:42, when the end will come like a flood, Dan. 9:26.

Do not wait for tomorrow, for when it comes to stopping sin, tomorrow does not come. You can not stop Satan. Only God can. You need the help of God. Accept the TRUTHS today.
